Chapter 1926 - 471: Samsara of Life and Death—Never Truly Gone (Part 2)
Yan Song dodged the killing blow at an odd angle, directly grabbing the opponent’s neck, leaving them no escape. When he saw the face clearly, he couldn’t help but be taken aback. In that fleeting moment, the youth coldly laughed, seizing the chance to strike Yan Song’s chest with a palm, forcing him to stagger backward.
The opponent’s palm strike was delivered with full force. Yan Song felt as if his organs were burning, a trace of blood seeping from the corner of his mouth. He wiped it away with his sleeve and stared at the moonlit black-clothed youth, shock in his eyes.
"Yun Ya?"
The youth shouted coldly, "You are not worthy of uttering her name."
Under the moonlight, the youth’s skin was as white as jade, his features resembling Yun Ya’s by seventy percent. Compared to Yun Ya’s gentle femininity, he exuded a more heroic and refined air, dressed in black that was as sharp as a knife, like a peerless sword about to unsheathe. At this moment, his unfathomable gaze carried infinite coldness.
The face that looked so similar made him almost mistake it for Yun Ya at first glance. But how could this person be Yun Ya? This was clearly Yun Miao.
Yet, the Yun Miao he remembered was timid and weak. How could he now have such sharp eyes like knives and a palm filled with murderous intent?
He couldn’t reconcile the youth in black before him with the Yun Miao in his memory.
"Are you... Miaomiao?"
The youth frowned, his gaze like a knife. "You are not allowed to call me that."
Only Yaya could call him by that name; who was he to take such liberties?
Yan Song pressed his lips together, "You can speak now?"
Yun Miao was born deaf-mute, and Yun Ya had been endlessly worried about her disabled twin brother. Unexpectedly, he was now able to speak.
Clouded with fleeting hostility, Yun Miao’s patience had run dry upon encountering this man, making him volatile and quick to anger, eager to kill. He wasn’t sure if it was Yun Miao’s remaining consciousness within him or an innate dislike for this man.
In any case, he disliked this man, even if he was Yaya’s beloved.
"Yan Song, stay away from my sister, or I won’t spare you." Yun Miao coldly said, pointing the dagger in his hand towards Yan Song’s heart.
Yan Song instinctively furrowed his brows, not expecting to meet this brother-in-law and be greeted with a knife. The disdain in his eyes was undisguised.
Yun Miao had awakened, was no longer voiceless, yet in the process, something had undeniably changed.
But his disdain towards him remained unchanged.
"Sorry, I can’t do that." Yan Song replied nonchalantly, though his tone was undeniably firm.
Not even his brother-in-law could make him give up Yun Ya.
Yun Miao let out a cold laugh, "With the Power of the Fire Cloud Dragon, you are free from the cycle of life and death, immortal, yet such a being has no right to stay by Yun Ya’s side."
Yan Song’s hand, hidden within his sleeve, clenched tightly, his gaze unwavering.
So, how could he let his sister marry such a monster? When she grew old, he would remain unchanged, such cruelty to his sister. Better to cut it off quickly than to suffer enduring chaos; he might as well be the villain.
"Do you think this is the right time to discuss these matters?" Yan Song spoke calmly, his expression indifferent.
Yun Miao glanced at the soldiers swapping patrol duties in the square, knowing indeed it wasn’t the time, yet he couldn’t allow him to approach Yun Ya.
"As long as Queen is not defeated, Yun Ya will have no peace. After rescuing Yun Ya, we can sit down and discuss these matters, but right now, we must join forces to thwart Queen’s plot and rescue Yun Ya."
Yun Miao pressed his lips tightly, fingernails digging deep into his palm. He detested this man yet couldn’t avoid seeking his strength. Only then could he rescue Yaya quickly, too humiliating for one with inherent pride.
Faced with reality, he had to compromise.
His pride couldn’t compare with Yaya’s safety.
"What is your plan?"
Yan Song gazed at the night sky, speaking solemnly, "These past days, I’ve been covertly lurking, roughly grasping Queen’s forces. Her forces can be divided into two groups; one led by Gianna and Gal consists of the Eight Great Legions, well-equipped like a regular army, formidable in size, not to be underestimated. The other, formed by scattered Dark Forces worldwide, resembles a finely woven net enveloping everyone, influencing many invisibly from economy to the underworld. If the Eight Great Legions are her sharpest sword, then these Dark Forces are the bloodless knife of death she wields."
