Chapter 662: Faye Vesper
Chapter 662: Faye Vesper
Her breasts pressed against his arm with each step, her voluptuous form creating a visual spectacle that the Elven citizens of Caeloria could not ignore.
Their presence commanded attention, eliciting widespread recognition and an immediate cessation of ongoing talks as people recognized the unmistakable divine aura of a Chosen One.
"Every time I tried to leave to find you, Zephyros would stop me and say ’not yet, Faye, the timing is not right,’ and I was like ’but I want to meet him!’ and he kept laughing and saying ’patience, my child, your patience will be rewarded.’"
Jack’s expression remained neutral, but his hand instinctively moved to steady her as she practically bounced beside him.
Her hips swaying with each step, her ass creating a hypnotic motion beneath the white silk dress that caused every man and woman to stare.
"And then finally, finally today, Zephyros was like ’Faye, he’s ready now, go meet your destined husband!’ and I ran as fast as the wind itself and found you and oh my god you’re even better in person than I imagined!"
Her voice was unbridled enthusiasm wrapped in a bubbly personality that seemed genuinely incapable of containing itself.
She released his arm just long enough to twirl in front of him, her dress flaring outward to reveal the full extent of her curves before she grabbed his arm again, pressing close enough that her intoxicating scent filled his awareness.
Behind them, Skarl and the Orc warriors who had emerged from the villa followed at a respectful distance. The green-skinned warriors’ presence was unmistakable, a statement to every observer that this procession was under armed protection.
The elite palace guards, having received no orders and facing the undeniable reality that arresting a Chosen One would result in immediate catastrophe, simply followed at a distance. Carriers of the information that would reach the palace, the Council, and the King himself.
"You know what I love most?" Faye continued, her glossy lips curved in a perpetual smile as she looked up at him. "Your eyes! They’re so golden and serious, and they look at me like I’m the most important thing in the world, even though you’re being all stoic about it!"
They were approaching the palace district now. The grand architecture of Caeloria’s central government loomed ahead.
Citizens scattered before them. Not in fear, but in recognition. The divine aura that surrounded Faye Vesper was unmistakable.
The fact that she was openly claiming a human in the middle of the Elven Kingdom’s capital city was the kind of political statement that reverberated across every level of social hierarchy.
"And you’re so strong," Faye gushed, pressing herself even more firmly against his arm. "Zephyros said you were one of the strongest beings he’d ever encountered, but I didn’t really understand until I saw you in person and felt the way the air itself bends around you! And you’re so young! You’ll only get stronger as time goes on!"
Jack’s expression shifted fractionally as he observed the palace ahead. The guards at the entrance had already been alerted about his arrival.
"I’m going to be the best wife ever!" Faye announced, her voice carrying the absolute certainty of someone whose divine patron had already confirmed the outcome. "I’m going to make you smile constantly, and I’m going to support you, and I’m going to make sure everyone knows that you’re the most amazing person in the entire world!"
She squeezed his arm, her soft breasts compressing against him once more, and he could feel the genuine warmth of her enthusiasm radiating from her entire body.
"Is that okay?" she asked, her green eyes glowing as she looked up at him with an expression that was somehow both innocent and utterly aware of exactly how attractive she was. "That I’m going to be your wife?"
"I’m already engaged," Jack stated flatly, his tone carrying absolute certainty. "I do what I want when I want. Divine decree or otherwise. If Zephyros thinks he can dictate my decisions, he’s severely miscalculated."
Faye’s expression crumbled. Her lower lip trembled, her glossy pink lips pushing outward as she pouted again. Her green eyes widened, glistening as she looked up at him with the wounded expression of someone who had just received unexpected rejection.
"But... but Zephyros said..." she whispered, her voice becoming small, the bubbly enthusiasm draining away like wind from a sail. Her grip on his arm loosened, her divine aura flickering slightly as her emotional state wavered.
She pressed her forehead against his arm, her body language shifting from confident and bouncy to genuinely hurt.
"He promised I’d be yours," Faye said softly, her voice carrying real pain beneath the bubbly exterior that had defined her since arrival.
She practically trudged beside him as they approached the palace entrance, her voluptuous frame seeming diminished by the weight of rejection despite her obvious physical presence.
The palace guards at the entrance moved slightly to block the threshold, then immediately reconsidered when they recognized the divine aura surrounding Faye.
"The Chosen One of Zephyros is with a human?" one of them said.
"Stand aside," Faye said, her voice maintaining its bubbly cheerfulness but carrying a hint of anger. "My destined husband has access to all areas of the palace."
The guards moved aside.
Faye pulled Jack forward with surprising strength for someone so bubbly, her divine energy allowing her to move with ease. Her large hips swayed as she walked, her ass visible through the form-fitting dress with each step, creating a visual distraction that no amount of royal training could entirely suppress in the guards who observed her.
Inside the palace, the message spread like wildfire.
A Chosen One had claimed the Kaiser’s emissary. In front of dozens of witnesses. The implications ricocheted through every layer of palace hierarchy. An Elf openly chose a human.
This was unheard of, but if anyone could do it, it would be a Chosen One. Because they have unfathomable power, losing one would be the same as cutting off your own arm before charging into war.
A sudden, sharp vibration resonated deep within Jack’s consciousness, shattering the ambient noise of the palace corridors.
’Master, can you hear me?’ Loryn’s voice cut through the mental link, taut with a rare, electrified urgency. ’I found it. The magic sigil for the dark mana binding has been obtained. I can start preparing the crystals right away.’
Jack froze mid-stride. The sudden cessation of his movement caused Faye to stumble slightly against his side.
’Finally,’ Jack thought, a predatory thrill surging through his veins. ’The piece I needed to tip the scales.’
Without his conscious command, the sheer intensity of his focus caused his golden-orange eyes to blaze.
A violent, oppressive wave of raw mana flared outward from his core, rippling through the air like invisible heatwaves that cracked the polished stone beneath his boots.
The sudden pressure slammed into the surrounding guards, forcing them to drop to one knee under the crushing weight.
Faye blinked, her green eyes widening as the abrupt, suffocating surge of power disrupted the wind currents around her. She looked up at him, her previous hurt momentarily replaced by pure bewilderment.
"Hubby?" she murmured, her voice laced with deep confusion as she felt the shift. "What happened? What is that all of a sudden?"
