A lot had changed by the time we opened our eyes.

And it seemed, the entire scape of this place was frozen.

I managed to put flames to my leg, reducing my falling speed, then I vanished and gently landed on the frozen ground. I dismissed Kassie before she could touch the ground.

And then properly studied where I was.

A vast frozen land, somewhere ahead of me, was a wall of white... that seemed to be moving.

On a second look, that was no wall. It was a massive storm of snow that was rolling towards me with a frightening speed.

Instead of waiting for it. I threw myself into the sky and ignited flames beneath my feet. I tried to fly as high as I could, wanting to escape the blow of the storm. But it swallowed me in whole and crumbled against the rest of the broken lands.

The cold bit into my bones, but I surrounded myself with burning flames and intensified the heat. Feeling slightly warmer, at the same time ravaged by a storm of endless cold, I righted myself in the air and glanced around.

Trying to peer through a storm was useless, my eyes weren’t that magnificent, so I depended on Enhanced Senses to note the people around me.

I felt White Feather first, then felt Gilbert next.

Then there were quite a few people I couldn’t quite place an identity tag on.

Not stressing too much about it, I flew, following their essence. Soon, I managed to overcome the unseeable expanse of the storm and reached its middle.

In the center was an incredibly tall mountain and on the side of that mountain a massive ship had bitten into it so deeply that, more than half of its side was lodged into the fissure of the mountain. It seemed to float in the sky, stuck.

The sea was still frozen, so if I had to take a guess, it was that a very unusual crash had happened here, releasing that storm of snow from within the mountain.

And we were certainly not in Crystalis anymore.

’How long were we trapped inside that thing?’

"When you went into the strange dark sky, lady Kassie continued to fight it while we continued to carve our path towards Fairywind. We even managed to outrun it, leaving you and lady Kassie behind. And we flew peacefully for a day, before all of a sudden, it began to pursue us from behind again."

She breathed, catching her breath as she continued.

"We were already at the edge of Crystalis and branching into the Northern edge of Solarium, when it caught up, we tried our best to fly as fast as we could but until Sir Gilbert lost control of the ship and we ended up crashing into this mountain. Moments before that this flying darkness suddenly vanished."

Now her worry returned. And she pierced it at me.

"What happened in there? We were so worried, I knew you weren’t dead but it was hard to tell with how faint the connection was."

One moment, I thought about telling her what happened, the next I decided it was a bad idea.

’Let’s not ruin her image of me.’

I gave her a cool giggle.

"Looks like I managed to defeat it in time."
