Chapter 588 - 575: Prelude to Madness!
BEEP BEEP BEEP—!
"Hello, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later!"

"Hello, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later!"
BEEP BEEP BEEP—!
"Hello, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later!"
With sweaty palms, tense and panicked, Qin Fan dialed the number three times in a row. But the result was the same each time—no answer.
Considering Jiang Yino might be deliberately ignoring his calls because of what happened during the day, Qin Fan tried to console himself and dialed Du Ruanqing’s number. But the result was exactly the same—no one answered.
At that moment, Qin Fan felt like he was going to lose his mind. An immense and terrifying chill erupted from him, completely uncontrolled. Zhu Houqing and Wang Dalu, who had been standing by in a daze, suddenly felt as if they had been plunged into an icy cavern. It was cold, so bitterly cold. Both of them began to shiver.
In the next second, seeing the savage, sinister look on Qin Fan’s face, Wang Dalu cried out in alarm, "Fourth Bro, what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me! What happened? What the hell happened? Say something!"
Qin Fan’s jaw was clenched so tightly he didn’t even hear the frantic shouts. This was the first time he had felt true panic since his rebirth. Suppressing the violent rage that threatened to erupt from within, he dialed Amber’s number. This was his last chance—the last opportunity to quell his impending madness.
BEEP BEEP BEEP—!
BEEP BEEP BEEP—!
BEEP BEEP BEEP—!
Every beep grated on Qin Fan’s frayed nerves, pushing him closer to the edge. Yet, amid the relentless ringing, the call remained unanswered.
「In a desolate forest dozens of kilometers from Jinling University.」
Feeling the phone vibrating in her pocket, Amber, who was tied to a tree, began to scream hysterically.
"AHHH!!!"
"AHHH!!!"
"AHHH!!!"
With each heart-wrenching scream, tears streamed down the flawless, beautiful face that Qin Fan himself had reconstructed. She knew it was him calling, but she was bound so tightly she couldn’t move a muscle to break free. As tears rolled relentlessly down her cheeks, her face was a mask of pure regret. Why did I pass up the chance to report to him!
My phone is ringing... this has to mean Jiang Yino has been kidnapped! She could think of no other reason for Qin Fan to be calling her. What does Jiang Yino’s kidnapping mean?
At this point, she stopped thinking about the horrifying fate she would suffer at Qin Fan’s hands. She was consumed by guilt—guilt for failing in her duty yet again, and for allowing Jiang Yino to fall into danger once more.
"Master, I was wrong! I was wrong!"
She, a master at the peak of Dark Energy, had been completely powerless against Chen Tiansheng. Bound by the Magic Artifact ropes, she was even more helpless, unable to move an inch. In this moment, all she could do was let her tears showcase her own powerlessness. She knew the man hadn’t killed her for one reason: to torture her, or worse, to make Qin Fan torture her. If only I could die. Only death could atone for this failure!
The phone’s vibrations continued until the call was finally disconnected. As the buzzing stopped, Amber suddenly broke into a manic laugh.
I can’t die. I have to live. I have to live and go back. Within my power, I will personally annihilate the entire families of everyone involved in Jiang Yino’s kidnapping. Only then will I go before Qin Fan and atone with my life! I should have been dead long ago. These past few months of life were just a bonus.
「On the balcony of Dormitory 708.」
When Amber’s phone rang until the call disconnected, unanswered, a sharp sound echoed in the silence.
CRACK!
The phone in Qin Fan’s hand was crushed into a twisted wreck.
The next moment, he spun around and leaped from the balcony. Wang Dalu and Zhu Houqing saw only a blur of motion. By the time they regained their senses, Qin Fan was gone. "Fourth Bro!" they shouted, instinctively running outside. But he had already vanished without a trace.
"What’s going on? What happened?" Li Yunzhe yelled, rushing out of Dormitory 709 after hearing the commotion.
"Something’s happened! Something’s definitely happened! I’ve never seen Fourth Bro like this!" Wang Dalu shouted, his voice trembling and incoherent. "Find him! We have to find him now!" Like a man possessed, he bolted down the corridor.
「Meanwhile, outside an old cinema in the northern suburbs of Jinling.」
Seven Jianghuai vehicles were parked by the entrance, all of them now empty. The phones taken from Jiang Yino and her friends had been tossed onto the seats, their notification lights blinking from missed calls.
"Brother Fei, how the hell could anyone be here? This old cinema’s been abandoned for years!" Xiao Hei said as he pushed open the unlocked, rusty gate of the theater’s perimeter, Jiang Yino still slung over his shoulder.
"Cut the crap! It doesn’t matter if anyone’s here. Just do your job!" Brother Fei snapped, though he too felt a prickle of fear. He hurried to the main entrance of the cinema, banged on the door, and called out, "Anybody there?"
"The door’s unlocked!" a faint, amused voice drifted from within.
Brother Fei and his men breathed a small sigh of relief. Without another word, he reached out and pushed the heavy door open.
CLICK—
As the door swung inward, a switch was tripped. A dazzling beam of light shot out from the darkness, momentarily blinding them. Brother Fei and his men instinctively threw their hands up to shield their eyes.
"Stop dawdling. Bring her in," a voice commanded.
Chen Tiansheng sat in the center of the theater with his legs crossed, not even bothering to look at the men who had paused at the entrance.
"Yes!" Brother Fei replied, his voice tight. Blinking rapidly, he forced his eyes to adjust to the sudden shift from darkness to light. He then gestured for Xiao Hei and the others to follow him inside.
"Boss, we brought her. We should be going now," Brother Fei said, his voice trembling as he took in Chen Tiansheng’s leisurely posture.
"Wait," Chen Tiansheng said, raising a hand.
"Boss, what is it?" Brother Fei asked uneasily.
"This is a cinema, a place to watch movies. Since the leading lady has arrived, she needs an audience," Chen Tiansheng said, licking his lips with a wicked grin. He still hadn’t looked directly at them. "I was going to have you all watch, but you threw in a ’buy one, get two free’ deal. That’s fine. Tie those other two women to the chairs. They can be the audience."
Watch a movie? Leading lady? Audience? The words sent a chill down Brother Fei’s spine. Is this bastard in white some kind of psycho?
Still, he was paid to do a job, and he had come this far. A little more wouldn’t hurt.
"Yes, boss!" he agreed, then shot a look at Xiao Hei and the others. They immediately understood and quickly tied the struggling and muffled Du Ruanqing and Ou Mingsi to nearby chairs.
"Boss, it’s done. Can we leave now?" Brother Fei asked Chen Tiansheng, his fear palpable.
"Not so fast. One last thing." Chen Tiansheng stood up and produced a small vial. "Feed this to her." He held it out to Brother Fei, his gaze fixed on Jiang Yino, who was shaking her head frantically and struggling against her gag. His smile was pure evil.
